We are excited to announce the launch of 2ndFamily.com. 2nd Family is a Maryland senior home care provider that provides personal care and home care for the elderly and specializes in hygiene, nutrition, Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and more!
We worked with 2nd Family on their last version of their website, but worked with them to create a new version of the site that better told their story with crisp clean visuals, a more modern feel, and more directed copy.
Gotta keep it simple
When designing a site and thinking through site strategy, it’s very important to keep in mind the demographic that will be using the site. The reality is that because of the services that 2nd Family provides, their audience is going to typically be an older demographic. In this revised site, we used larger fonts, increased line-heights and margins, and made it easier to follow the story simply by scrolling down, especially on the home page. This not only keeps things cleaner, simpler, and easier to follow, but it forced us to really think through what the core message of their story is and focus on that.
Telling a story
In putting together the copy for the home page, we worked with 2nd Family to tell their story while also highlighting what makes them different as a company. Starting with a quote from the owners explaining problems that they had finding a caregiver for their grandmother, the rest of the page explains how 2nd Family solves those problems, how they meet those needs, and a testimonial from a client who has seen the difference that 2nd Family has made in their life. Designing the home page this way created an engaging and full way of telling their story for someone interested in their services.
Sometimes real is better
For most of our sites, we use stock photography to help to accurately present what our customer does and how they help their clients (except of course for contractors, landscapers, etc.). Home care is one of the more personal things that a person will need in their life, so we worked with photos from a photo shoot that 2nd Family had done. This allowed us to show clean, crisp photos of 2nd Family’s ACTUAL care givers spending time with their clients. One of the top ways to make a connection with a user is with actual photos of your work, your employees, or whatever else is relevant to your business.
The Finishing Touches
While we incorporated their photos where we could, we also utilized stock photography where necessary to help pull the site together and showcase their services. We worked to develop a winning marketing strategy that weaved throughout the whole process working towards one goal, getting our client results. As we do with all projects, we will continue to work with 2nd Family to further optimize their site, their rankings, their conversions, and their leads into the future.
